Do I have Whiplash?
Have You Been in an Automobile Accident? You Might Have Whiplash
Auto accidents can cause all kinds of neck and back pain. You don’t have to live with it. At Back to Health Chiropractic, we can help you recover from your injuries and assist you with finding legal counsel and acquiring compensation for your care.
Whiplash
Whiplash occurs when your head and neck are jolted quickly from back to front. It can occur in various circumstances, but is most frequently seen in rear-end auto collisions. The physical trauma from whiplash can result in disc bulging, spinal misalignment, irritated or damaged nerves, and pulled ligaments and muscles in the neck.
Symptoms of whiplash include:
- Neck Pain
- Shoulder Pain
- Upper Back and Arm Pain
- Blurred Vision
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Ringing in the ears
If you are experiencing any pain or symptoms, seek care as soon as possible after the injury. Chiropractic care can keep any issues from becoming long-term problems. In addition, we will discuss whether your pain is attributable to the whiplash incident, providing information and medical insights for any legal proceedings.

Auto Insurance Tips
Before you are involved in an accident, take a look at your insurance policy. Based on our 20+ years of experience, we would like to offer two pieces of advice.
- If you do not have health insurance or if you do have it and your deductible is more than you could easily pay, you should look into Med Pay coverage. An add-on to your auto insurance policy, it covers accident-related medical expenses for you, your family, or anyone in the car that you own. Benefits are paid whether the accident was your fault or not. This could save you severe financial strain. It also allows you to be seen in any hospital or doctor’s office to help you heal properly. It is amazingly cheap—we keep a $50,000 per person policy on our auto and it only costs us $11 per month. Seriously! And your premiums don’t go up if you use it.
- Another add-on is called Uninsured or Underinsured Motorist coverage. If the driver who is at fault in the accident doesn’t carry liability insurance, or their limits are too low to cover the damage and medical expenses, this coverage will help. It will cover whatever isn’t covered by the driver’s policy. It’s usually very inexpensive and can really help you pay for damages to your car and medical expenses if you need it.
